What if the way we parent today determines the world we live in tomorrow?

Every child cries.

It's one of the first things they do when they enter this world.

But over the years, I began asking myself a question that completely changed the way I viewed parenting.

What effect does constant crying have on a child's mental and emotional well-being?

That single question led me down a path that would ultimately become the foundation for End Abuse With You: 20 Year Parenting.

My name is Glow Rivera, and I'm the mother of three grown sons.

For more than forty years, I've been fascinated by human behavior.

I've spent decades observing people, listening to their stories, and asking one simple question:

Why do some people grow into confident, responsible adults while others struggle with pain, despair, and self-destructive behavior?

As I traced these stories back to their beginnings, I noticed something that deeply impacted me.

Many people who described lives filled with chaos also described painful childhood experiences.

That realization stayed with me.

Then I Became A Mother.

Like every first-time parent...

I didn't know what I was doing.

No one hands you an instruction manual.

No one teaches you exactly how to respond when your baby cries...

How to discipline...

How to develop behavior...

How to prepare for every stage of childhood.

You're simply expected to figure it out.

Then one day, one of my children cried.

And it broke my heart.

I remember thinking...

There has to be a better way.

That day, I challenged myself to rethink everything I believed about parenting.

What If Parenting Could Be Different?

As I reflected on everything I had learned through decades of studying behavior, I realized something.

I already knew many of the ways adults unintentionally hurt children.

So instead of asking,

"What should I do?"

I started asking,

"What should I avoid?"

I began writing everything down.

Things that build confidence.

Things that destroy confidence.

Things that strengthen children.

Things that discourage them.

Things that help behavior develop naturally.

Things that create unnecessary conflict.

Little by little...

Those notes became a parenting system.

Over the next twenty years, I refined those ideas while raising my own children through every stage of life.

Eventually, those lessons earned a name.

The Tearless Childhood.

For me, that phrase represents a parenting philosophy centered on protecting a child's confidence, emotional well-being, and healthy development.

Why Developing Confidence Matters

In my experience as both a mother and someone who has spent decades studying human behavior, I came to believe that confidence is one of the greatest gifts we can help our children develop.

Children who believe in themselves are often better equipped to face challenges, make thoughtful decisions, and navigate difficult situations.

That's why so much of my parenting philosophy revolves around one guiding principle:

Protect your child's confidence.

Lead in ways that help build it.

Avoid habits that may unintentionally tear it down.

Parenting Doesn't End At Toddlerhood

One of the biggest mistakes I see is parents preparing only for the stage they're currently living.

But children grow.

Fast.

One day you're wondering...

"Why is my baby crying?"

Before you know it...

You're asking...

"How do I stop toddler tantrums?"

"How do I discipline without constant battles?"

"How do I prepare my teenager for peer pressure?"

"How do I raise a responsible young adult?"

That's why I wrote this book.

Not just for toddlers.

Not just for babies.

For the entire parenting journey.

Inside You'll Discover 12 Parenting Techniques

Within these pages, I share twelve parenting techniques that I developed over two decades of raising my children and refining my parenting philosophy.

You'll learn practical ideas for:

✔ Developing behavior without relying primarily on punishment.

✔ Building confidence through everyday interactions.

✔ Responding intentionally during challenging moments.

✔ Creating healthy habits from an early age.

✔ Understanding the "why" behind parenting decisions—not just the "what."

Why Punishment Is Ineffective

Many parenting approaches emphasize punishment as the primary solution for correcting behavior.

My approach is different.

Rather than focusing first on punishment, I encourage parents to think about behavior development.

Throughout the book, I explain why I chose this path and share the principles that guided my own parenting journey.

If you're currently relying on punishment, fear, or intimidation, I simply invite you to consider another perspective.

One centered on intentional guidance, consistency, and long-term development.

Looking Beyond Childhood

Every parent hopes their child grows into a confident, responsible adult.

That's certainly what I hoped for my own children.

When they reached their teenage years, I watched them face many of the same pressures other teenagers encounter.

Peer pressure.

Risky choices.

The desire to fit in.

Seeing how they responded reinforced my belief that the habits, confidence, and values developed during childhood can have a lasting impact later in life.

That experience inspired me to share everything I had learned with other parents.

This Book Is More Than A Parenting Guide

It's an invitation.

An invitation to think differently.

To parent intentionally.

To build confidence instead of fear.

To create stronger family relationships one day at a time.

Whether you're expecting your first child...

Holding a newborn...

Managing toddler tantrums...

Or preparing a teenager for adulthood...

My hope is that this book becomes a trusted companion throughout your parenting journey.
